A New Horizon: Welcoming Robin V to Blue Healing Journeys
BLUE HEALING JOURNEYS NEWEST ADDITION
We are thrilled to share transformative news with our community: Blue Healing Journeys has been gifted Robin V, a classic 1968 Bristol 39 sailboat, generously donated by a cherished local patron and supporter of our mission who lovingly owned and cared for her for 30 years. This extraordinary vessel marks a major milestone for our organization, allowing us to significantly expand our Sail to Heal program and serve more individuals seeking solace on the water.
A Legendary Design Built for the Water
For the sailing enthusiasts in our community, Robin V holds a special place in maritime history. Designed by the renowned naval architect Ted Hood as an ideal racer-cruiser, the Bristol 39 was first introduced in 1966 and remains celebrated for its graceful lines, seaworthiness, and smooth performance. The late-1960s production run represents the final and definitive 39-foot design from Bristol Yacht Co.—making Robin V a true classic of American boatbuilding.
Catching the Late-Season Breeze
Because Robin V arrived late in the sailing season, we are hosting one or two inaugural outings before she is dry-docked for the fall and winter months. These initial trips will allow us to welcome her into our fleet and prepare her for a full schedule ahead.
Looking forward, our team is building an active sailing calendar for spring and summer 2027, filled with opportunities to experience the water.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our donor for entrusting us with Robin V and her 30-year legacy of care.
Ocean Air, Quiet Waters, and the Path to Healing
There is something deeply restorative about being on the water. For those navigating the profound weight of losing a loved one, sailing offers a unique space for reflection and gentle comfort:
The Calm of the Elements: The steady rhythm of the waves, the soft pull of the wind in the sails, and an unobstructed horizon create a natural sanctuary far away from daily pressures.
Shared Connection: Being aboard a vessel like Robin V fosters a supportive, close-knit environment where grief doesn't need to be explained—it can simply exist alongside others who understand.
Restoring Balance: Working with the wind and water provides a tangible, gentle metaphor for finding rhythm, balance, and quiet hope amid life’s sudden changes.
We look forward to welcoming you aboard in 2027 as we set sail toward healing together.
