Sail to Heal Sets Sail on it’s Maiden Overnight Sailing Retreat, Offering Healing and Connection for Participants

Sea Cliff, NY (July 12, 2024) – Sail to Heal, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the mental and emotional well-being of those bereaved by suicide, successfully completed its inaugural 5-day/4-night sailing retreat on the Long Island Sound.

Participants embarked on a transformative journey of healing and connection aboard a majestic 72-foot sailboat. Through a unique program combining support group workshops, expressive art therapy, meditation, yoga, sound bath therapy, and the shared experience of sailing as a team, participants found solace and strength in one another. Healthy meals and the camaraderie of working together fostered a supportive environment where survivors could connect and continue their healing journey in a safe physical and emotional space.

“The experience was truly remarkable, and very therapeutic” said a participant. “Being out at sea, surrounded by nature and working together as a team and actually learning to sail was amazing!”
